I understand that the latest update of W10 has removed the WORKGROUP function making it difficult/impossible to link PCs over one’s domestic LAN. I have always copied new photos from laptop to PC and this has stopped working. I spent a while with Microsoft techie ending in him suggesting I upload them to the cloud and then download them again! It would be much easier to use a USB stick.
Is there a work-around?
This is a crass update!
Peter,
Y’know … if you have a good, unlimited Internet connection, you may be surprised at how easy it is to upload to cloud and back down. It’s all automatic with OneDrive. Just include the Pictures folder in your OneDrive settings and they will be automatically uploaded. Then on your other computer, select the OneDrive settings and “Choose Folders to be available on this PC” This download function will also be automatci. Basically, the cloud/OneDrive acts as your File Server. I could make you a video if this sounds helpful.
As for the missing Workgroup function, I don’t have any suggestions. Jim may have some, he’s driving now – will post later.
