This via email from another reader – negative reviews of Virgin Mobile MiFi
Only 3G in our hometown is Sprint so I was close to finalizing deal on EVO/unlimited data when I saw your article on Virgin Mobile. It sounded like the solution to our access problems since we knew we were going to be stuck with Sprint Network.
It is apparently so popular that finding the 2200 mifi device is a bit of a trick but it did show as available at the local Radio Shack.
Problem is that when I got there, they said that the only one's they had were actually in stock but not available for sale because they were all going back due to complaints of slow connectivity/speed.
Sounds like the article below explains what we are seeing in Quincy, that the Virgin Mobile solution is showing about only 1/4 of speed of Sprint 3g in same place.
