I bought the mbr900 yesterday and the verizon uml240 last week…making sure they are compatible…yes after the firmware download.
I tried to set it all up myself following the instructions provided. No internet access.
I got on chat help with Cradlepoint at 7:15 am this morning and after 5 hours – No internet access.
At one point it was ALL working. I could access the router, I had internet access on both our laptops. The chat guy suggested that the last thing we do is make it secure with a password. He told me how to do it, I did it, i rebooted (as he said I should) and – NO INTERNET ACCESS!! and then after going through more procedures for the rest of the 5 hours we could not get it to work again.
I am sooo frustrated I could scream and throw things!!!

I understand your frustration. This is not always easy, regardless of what the advertising says. Take a deep breath and relax. The fact that it did work once is a good thing. It sounds like a configuration mis-match somewhere.
I cannot find any reference to a UML240, so am assuming a Pantech UML290 4G LTE USB modem.
Sorry, I don't have an easy answer and cannot know what steps you took with tech support, so I will start with what I would do. One step at a time. Take it slowly and document the steps you take.
First of all, do the devices work independently of each other?
Does the USB modem work when connected directly to a computer? Can you reliably browse the Internet using that connection?
What IP address is the computer receiving from the USB modem? Write it down, including DNS server addresses.
Hard wire a computer to the router with an Ethernet cable and access its browser based configuration pages. Somewhere in there is a firmware version. Is it what you expect? I think 1.8.1 is the version you should have and it should not hurt to reinstall the firmware. There is also a way to reset the router to factory default settings and will not affect the firmware version.
What IP address is the router giving the computer? If it is the same or near the IP address the modem gave the computer, that may be the issue. A router can only connect two distinctly different networks.
Assuming both devices are working separately, plug the USB modem into the router while still hard-wired to the computer.
The router should get an IP address from the modem. What is that address?
Can you browse the Internet while hard wired to the router? If so, now is the time to configure the wireless connection.
Once the wireless configuration is set, you should be able to wirelessly connect to the router and browse.
It is easier to configure the MBR900 than the UML290.

I could have sworn I replied to this already…anyway…gave it another shot tonight…checked all the things you told me too.
I was able to connect to the router (before I plugged in the PANTECH UML290). I was also able to connect to the internet with the UML plugged into my computer.
Once I was able to connect to the router, I checked all the IP's …no conflict…not even close. After that I plugged the UML into it. I was able to connect to the internet, but at some point lost my internet access and was not able to get back on.
Even with no internet access I can connect to the router no problem.
I thought it might be not enough service or fluctuating service on the Verizon UML, but when I plugged it into my laptop (what I'm on now) I have full bars on 3g, no fluctuation.
It seems my only solution at this point is two ethernet cables plugged into both computers in order for both of them to get online from the UML. But that doesn't help my printer any…It's across the room.
Any other suggestions??

It sounds like you did everything to troubleshoot the problem.
My feeling is that the router is at fault. You do not say where you purchased it. I would consider asking for a replacement.

Just wanted to let you know what we did.
Returned the MBR 900 to best buy.
Ordered an MBR1000, an amplifier and a wilson antenna from the 3g Store. Everything is up and running and is doing wonderful. We can't do anything about the high traffic times on the ONE tower for miles around, but on non-high traffic times it works great….
