Q: We recently purchased a “smart tv” for our motorhome and was wondering what you might recommend in the way of an external amplifier/antenna booster device to allow us to receive a better wifi signal. Some I have read about require a program disc be installed but that is not possible with the tv. Is there a simple “plug and play” device out that you may recommend?
Thanks for your time

Hoyt

Response from Jim:

What WiFi signal are you trying to connect to? I doubt you want to reconfigure your TV every time you relocate.
I connect my smart TV to a local WiFi Ranger which is already a good way to connect to WiFi. If I am some distance from the access point, I use the external WiFi Mobile for longer range. There are newer devices out now which do the same thing.

Connecting to my own router eliminates individual device configuration issues. All my wired and wireless devices connect to the Ranger. I connect the Ranger to whatever signal is available.
