Great news for people using FoxFi and other apps to make their 4G phones into WiFi hotspots.  The FCC ruled that Verizon CAN NOT charge extra for this!  Thanks to George Persico a ‘Proud Geeks on Tour member’ for sending us this link:…..000001916/

The article I read on about this FCC/Verizon case says that you are allowed to tether with an independent app if you pay for a fixed data plan with Verizon.  But you are not suppose to tether using an app like PDAnet if you have an “unlimited” data plan with Verizon.  Not sure Verizon can enforce that.

So, I guess those of us with unlimited data plans still need to “fly below the radar”, and not bring attention to ourselves.
