Hi Chris   I enjoy your tips with using Kindle on IPhone but some of us use the tablet types.  I  have tried some of them on the pad and no luck.  Am I doing something wrong or what?

Hello Chuck,

It might make a difference what model you have of the Kindle. There are several: basic Kindle, Paperwhite, Oasis … I don’t think any of them are very responsive when it comes to web-browsing. So, following links in a book is doable, but not fast.

If you’re talking about looking up characters etc. – that’s called XRay. If the book you’re reading supports the XRay feature, I’m pretty sure you can use it on the Kindle devices. I found this article, and it looks like it may work differently on the Kindle than on the phone. I look up a person by long-pressing on their name. The article about Kindle says to open the menu at the top and tap XRay, then choose people.

Let me know if this helps

Hi Chris

Found out the X-Ray works on the Paperwhite which I didn’t know.  Of course I knew definitions worked alto why the authors sometimes use big words when I think simpler ones would do as good but I guess they are trying to show off how smart they are:).  Thanks for all the lessons and someday I will figure out Zoom even with your lessons confusing me but that is another story. Wink
