Saving the past in a new way.
Time off and a snowy day in the north east allowed me to dig out the old Slide Projector & screen after removing a few years of dust from the lens set the show up in the den and selectively snapped digital photos using our digital camera and importing them into Picasaa. Yes I know we could have ordered a slide scanner but some times it more fun to play out side the box. Using Skype we shared the slide show (in real time) with family in three other states and were able to identify dates, people, and events, adding the text as we watched the show. The photo quality was very good when considering the age of the slides. As a result of the effort we now have a Picasa slide show created from some 300 old slides selectively copied and shared on CD. Geeks on tour tips on cropping, red eye fixes, and Chris favorite ” I feel lucky ” helped a lot.
This photo taken of a friend in 1968 the friend has passed away but the memory has been recovered,

A little off subject but I hope it helps every one enjoy Picasa.
