When you create a photo book with Google Photos, you will see the pages at the right. Click on a page and you should see the spot where you can type a caption. If not, then choose one of the other layout options that allow space for a caption. I demonstrated this at about 5 minutes into episode 151 – if you watch for just 1.5 minutes you should see what I mean.
As for the maps, that’s another story 🙁 The maps that Google Photos automatically creates in an album are only visible while viewing the album. If you want a map to print in a book – I use another technique, I make a map using Google Maps and take a screenshot. Now that is a photo like any other photo and it can be added to your album.
