Most computers have a button to disable the mouse pad. Check to documentation for yours.

Day after day as I try to remember, I find my forgetter working better and better.

Thanks for the Reply David.

My old laptop has No button to disable the pad. The newer HP does, the old one is for the Wife to play on Face Book. That's why I want to shut off the pad. I remember at a Geeks class they talked about that.

Thanks Again Wayne

Many computers do not have a way to disable the touch pad.  Mine does not.

If you don't have a button or switch on the computer, and cannot disable it in the Control Panel, you might just cut a piece of thin cardboard and tape it over the touchpad.

It's not the most elegant solution, but it works.

Thanks Jim,

I thought that Chris was telling us how to do it at Nicks rally or Escappess in Elkhart. Just wish I could remember how?? Well I did put the Cardboard over the laptop. The wife is looking at my laptop and wanting to switch laptops.

I'll bet this is my video you're thinking of.  It does show how to disable the touchpad on my computer at the time, using the control panel.
