Hi, Chris. I have been working through your tutorials for Picasa and blogging using Blogger and Live Writer. I have a blog up and going and have had no real trouble working through things with my desktop computer which is Vista-based. However, we are getting ready to start an extensive travel period and will be taking a new laptop computer to use along the way. I have downloaded and installed Picasa. No problem, I just have to re-work some of the picture files uploaded from flashdrives. Then I clicked on Windows Live Writer–and whoa! does that screen look different! I have connected to my blog and can still do most of the things I did in the Vista-based screen, but where/how can I put a link to my pictures in Picasa web? I miss my right-side task bar. Can you help?
Oh yeah … I remember when Live Writer changed! Just like all Microsoft products, it went to the ‘Ribbon’ method of displaying menus. So – you need to first click one of the File, Home, Insert, Blog Account menus. Once you’ve clicked ‘Insert’ then next row down (the Ribbon) will show you all the different things you can insert. Once you have inserted something, you will see a right sidebar kinda like you used to have, with all the options for that thing. Then, you’ll need to remember to click ‘Home’ to get the Ribbon back to the main menu for uploading etc.
For Picasa Web Albums, you’ll need to download and install the Picasa Image Plugin
