Blogger question related to pictures from 2009 lost when slideshows stopped.

I’m still frustrated at my blog in blogger-seastartravelog.  I have fixed some of my posts like year 2008 but as my year is missing some posts especially 2009 I wish to now fix and share from blogger. I have a written post with blanks for pictures that used to show a slideshow, so they are pictures that are uploaded when I used Picasa for years.  I’ve tried finding them in all my google data in archive and cant–or if I can find some I haven’t the skill to keep all the tabs open to “get” them and put them on the correct page–it’s way to complex for me.  Frustrating, too, because the pics used to have lots of researched captions I can’t recall so many years later.  I checked and public is checked for blog and I believe same acct always used, except I never signed for google plus.Confused

Did I explain my problem cogently, and do you have any training materials to suggest for me?

Once you mentioned an ini file where blogger put pics.  How would I find that?

I thought I was doing fine with google photos and I thought I had my pictures where I want them- backed to GP on cloud and present on my current computer.  Now I have a new computer and copied my old “picture” file to it  Could the issue be that I have changed computers: this one is the third I’ve used since I started my blog and some of the pics were left behind?

I also need to understand fully Google drive with pictures.  Are all my google photos “on” or “in” drive–?  I also have thousands, free.

If so, where because I didn’t open a Gpicture file on my drive? I’ve also NOT used onedrive -just downloads to computer previously- and a few external drives when changing computers.  Didn’t trust cloud services. Do have Carbonite home

Thank you for help.  I’d call you for individual lessons but traveling again.   Kathy Chevalier

I believe you are talking about the Picasa Web Albums ability to make slideshows. And I announced it’s demise in this 2016 article.

Surprisingly, on that page the slideshow still works, as long as you click the link to install the Flash player – then wait, it takes quite a while to work.

Old photos used in your blog should be found at  in a folder called Photos from Blogger.

As for Google Drive, there’s a chapter in Mrs. Geek’s Guide to Google Photos about that. (As a member, you can download the eBook.) Here’s a key part:

Note: Even if you see your photos in both Drive and Photos, this is not a copy of your pictures. They only exist in your Google Account once. If you delete a picture from Google Photos, it will be gone from Google Drive

So, hopefully, you have never deleted photos when you see them in Drive?

New computer: changing computers would have no effect on your blog since all blog resources are online (in the cloud) But, might you have used a different Google account when setting up your new computer? That would upload all photos to a different place – the new account – rather than the old account.

Let me know if any of this helps. If you have further questions, a link to a specific blog post would be helpful.
