Some blog readers aren’t able to post comments and are unable to see others who have commented on my blog.
This issue is only effecting some users.
As administrator, I can see the comments that have been posted, but I’m unable to reply to any posted comment.
Under the Settings section of the blog the following have been selected:
Comment Location = embedded
Who Can Comment = anyone
Comment Moderation = never
Show Word Verfication = yes
Comment Form Message = none added
Use Google + Comments on this Blog = no
Any suggestions / thoughts would be appreciated
thanks, Ken W
Ken,
I’m afraid I can’t say what is going on. I did find information on a change that Blogger is no longer supporting OpenID, I wonder if this has anything to do with your issue.
Blogger will no longer support OpenID as a provider or for making comments, and all comments that previously used OpenID will be anonymized. New comments can be posted either from a Google account or labeled as “Anonymous” on blogs that allow it.
see article here
If you can, see if one of the users who are currently unable to comment can sign in to their Google account – see if they can comment then.
As for not being able to reply, I also am blank except for the possibility that you’re not logged in to the Google account that owns the blog.
I see nothing wrong with your settings, but you may try turning off word verification and maybe changing comment location to pop up instead of embedded. Just to shake things up.
Let me know how it goes.
