Q: I am having a problem publishing my live writer drafts to my blog. I’ve been using the same remembered login name (email address) and password for 4 years. Now I get the error “message user name or pass word not recognized”. What happened? I have posted a blog that did not have an album in it just fine, but the one I want to post has an album and says I have to sign into Windows Live.
Thanks for any help you can give me.
A: It sounds to me that your Album is using pictures from your Windows Live account? To investigate where the problem lies, I would go to blogger.com and try to login manually on the web and create a blog post there. If that works, then you know your current, correct username and password for your blog.
So, it must have something to do with the album. How do you get to that album directly on the web – can you give me a link to your album? The windows live website has gone thru a lot of changes – I now log in to mine with an outlook.com email address.

I am creating an album in Live Writer using photos in “my Documents” folder I have created called Kodak pictures. I don’t know what Windows Live has to do with it. I copy my photos from my camera using Picasa. The photos from my Iphone uses Windows to download to the computer, then I move them to my Kodak picture folder. If Live writer is needing an email address and password other than the one I have saved, where would I find it?
I can do a post to my blog directly without using Live Writer, but cannot create an album. It wants to get the album from Picassa web albums. I don’t use Picassa web albums unless it does it automatically. I like to keep my photos organized in folders in My Documents.
What I have done is to delete the albums in Live Writer, substitute pictures and then post. That works fine. I just miss being able to have albums in my posts.
Thanks Chris for all the help, and I hope you are having a wonderful time in Denver!

Aha, I get it now. When you use Windows Live Writer and click the command to insert Photo Album, you are making a photo album online with your Windows Live account. You may have a Windows Live Account with a @hotmail.com address, or you may not even have an account.
When you upload pictures directly to your blog, those pictures get stored in a Picasa Web Album using your google account. There is no way that I know of to do an ‘album’ in the same way that Windows Live does it, you can insert a picture, then link to the Picasa Web Album it comes from. For example, here’s a link to my photo album of our TechnoGeek Learning Rally. Now, just attach that link to a picture instead of text, and you have almost the same thing as the Live Photo Album gave you.
