Good Morning Chris,
I posted this a few days ago but don't see it as part of the forum so hopefully it is not duplicated. I used docs.google.com to import a spreadsheet that is our current itinerary for Australia then tried to add it to the Itinerary button in my blog http://www.maladaonadventures……ogspot.com but couldn't make it happen. I followed the instructions from docs. and even tried to pick up the URL from blogger but to no avail. Any idea what I am doing wrong.
Blogger and Blogspot are not available from Beijing so won't be able to walk through this for the next couple of weeks when we are in Australia. Look forward to hearing from you.
Great question. I love Google Docs. It's a wonderful way to create spreadsheets, documents, and even Powerpoint-like presentations. The end result though is usually just a link for others to visit that spreadsheet at Google Docs.
What you need to do is, in Google Docs:
File / Publish as Web Page
Then, on that same screen, find the option to 'Get a link to the published data' and click the drop-down arrow for Web page … you should see an option for HTML to embed on a page.
Copy that HTML code, then go back to your blog. Be sure you're in Edit HTML view and paste the code you got from google docs.
Let me know if that works OK for you.
Thanks for the follow up.
Yes, Blogger has 'moved our cheese' … but I'm finding that all the same options are still there, just in different places – new videos are in the works.
Good job with getting the spreadsheet embedded! I've put that on my list for a video now – I'll bet others would like to do that.
Y'know – there is an option in the embed code for the width and height of the window … you might want to increase the height so that the viewer can see more of the itinerary without needing to scroll.
