I have several blogs published using open live writer. My last two different drafts give this error message.

“Can’t publish Files. The remote server returned an error (403) Forbidden”

I researched the error and I need to be a code junkie it seems to fix this. What do you suggest?

Thanks for the advice,

Chip and Daisy

Chip,

I can’t find a definitive answer on that. I know that sometimes I get similar errors when it’s an internet connection issue. Have you tried again – maybe on a different connection?

Just some questions:

  • are you using Open live writer to upload photos?
  • is your blogger site using https?
  • have you reviewed the Blog account settings just to see if everything works there? Home, Blog account, Blog options

Hi Chris:

Thanks for the reply. I have posted to my blog before and never have gotten this error msg. of unable to publish. But I did post a few pictures and did not go thru OLW to post the pics to my draft. Unfortunately I do not remember which pictures I did that with so will need to repost all the pics again making sure to go only thru OLW and to not just cut and paste if you this this is the generator of the error message.

Even though it worked before, https changes things. If you’re using https, do go thru the Blog account settings to see if there are any error messages there.
