I’m now able to upload and insert pictures into our travel blog, now. Thanks for checking that out.
Now my issue is people accessing my web albums, I have also had our son try to access this from home in case the ship had some things blocked and he can’t do it either.
In our blog: http://www.maladonadventures.b…..ogspot.com I have a link in the Picture Albums button along the top portion of the blog. When clicking on it all you get is “Page can’t be found” With the changes google has made is there a new URl to access this info? Or is this something to do with google plus that I need to correct. The only way I can access them is by: http://www.picasa web albums search in google then they come right up.
How do I correct this?
Darn! They keep taking away our old way of linking to stuff!
Now you have to use your Google ID # as in https://picasaweb.google.com/1…..3131756227
fyi – that will also work with the Google+ albums … https://plus.google.com/104655…..3131756227
I found that number by clicking on my Google+ Profile. The number appears, ever so briefly, in the address bar before it quickly changes to your google Username. I caught it quick with a screencapture, then wrote it out.
I sure hope they give us a way, in Google Photos to give a link to all our public albums. If you get a chance – leave that request in a Feedback to Google Photos ok?
I did some searching and finally found the following on googles product forums for picasa web albums.
the following message: It is not pretty but so far seems to work, getting others to test it for me now that I have made the changes. An easier cleaner was would be better.
If you want to share an album with somebody and you want them to see your album in Picasa Web Albums and not in Google+ then follow these steps:
1. Open this link https://picasaweb.google.com/lh/myphotos?noredirect=1
2. Click the link that says “Unlisted Gallery”
3. Click on the album you want to share
4. From your browser’s address bar copy the link and email it to the people you want.
5. If you want to turn a gallery into slideshow, add this to the end: #slideshow
If you want a permanent solution, you can remove Google+ from your Google account. Follow the 4 steps in the middle of the page:
Well, if you’re going to link just to an individual album, then you don’t need the old Picasa Web Albums interface. To get a shareable link to an album in Google Photos, just click on the album, click the share icon (sideways V) and choose Get Shareable Link.
What you can still do with the Picasa Web Albums interface is get a link to ALL your public albums. The trick is to find your Google Account #. Go to http://www.plus.google.com and click on Profile in the menu. Look at the address bar in your browser, you will briefly see your account ID# before it changes to your username. I captured it by having my finger poised on the PrintScreen button!
So, for example, here is a link to all my public albums in the Google Pluse format: https://plus.google.com/photos…..3131756227
And, here is the same for PicasaWeb Albums: https://picasaweb.google.com/1…..3131756227
I just went to your blog and checked it out. I see you are using the generic: https://picasaweb.google.com/l…..redirect=1
That won’t take your viewers to your web albums … that will take them to THEIR web albums. Or – more precisely, it will take you to the web albums of whatever account is logged in on that browser.
Do you know about incognito? If you use Chrome, it’s really easy to test what other people will get when clicking a link. Click the Chrome menu (3 bars in upper right) and choose “New Incognito Window”. Paste whatever link you want to test into there and see what happens – it will not be logged in as you.
We had some break through in getting the link in my Picture albums in my blog to work again. My son did some trouble shooting for me and the following works well and easier than trying to obtain the account id. The address needs the https: not http: along with the double slashes and NO www.
Try this out. The blog name is http://www.maladonadventures.b…..ogspot.com then click on the Picture Album Button then on the link (as below).
It is pretty easy but why picasa would not let people know is strange.
Thanks for all your assistance
Excellent! Good job.-
I would say there are two reasons Google doesn’t tell us these things:
- They just don’t have the time – Picasa Web Albums is not on their list these days. We’re lucky they’re keeping it alive.
- They want us to use the new product – Google Photos. If things are missing, we need to send Feedback. Actually, we really need to do that!
Let’s send feedback on Google Photos – go to http://www.photos.google.com, click on the 3-line menu in upper left, then “Send Feedback”
I’m writing: Please provide a method to link to ALL publicly shared albums. Like we had with Picasa Web Albums by linking to picasaweb.google.com/username. I want to have a link on my blog for friends to see ALL my pictures.
Ignore the screeen capture stuff – it doesn’t apply.
