I don’t know what happened, but yesterday I tried to access my Google Saved Passwords and the are gone.  I’ve tried the community help and troubleshooting, but the answers are not too responsive.  I”ve also sent feedback to Google, but I don’t know if anyone will respoind from that option.

Are you familiar with this issue, and if so is there a way I can get the password back?   My options included syncing, so that’s not the issue.  I was told that when a page I was trying to access wasn’t loading to clear my cache, etc in Chrome.  It wasn’t loading in Edge either,  That occurred shortly before this issue, so I don’t know if I picked a wrong choice when clearing Chrome.

Enjoyed the lesson on Sunday.  If the only thing I got out of it was the way to shut off my phone ringing, it was valuable.

When you say you “tried to access my Google Saved Passwords and the are gone” do you mean that

  1. you’re looking at passwords.google.com (the whole list of sites with Google-remembered passwords) or
  2. you’re trying to login to a site and the password doesn’t come up?

If #1, are you positive you’re signed in with the correct Google Account?

If #2, have you recently cleared cache? and maybe checked the box for passwords. Try going to passwords.google.com and see if they’re there. Close all Chrome windows, reboot, and try again.

I sure hope your passwords aren’t actually gone! Have you ever exported a backup of them? Do you have any other devices that are currently logged in – maybe your passwords are still available to that device. AND, you could go to passwords.google.com, click the gear for settings and do an Export Passwords so you know they’re safe.

You won’t get a response from Google using the feedback option, but if you’re a Google One subscriber, you can get a phone call. Go to the support form here – then you have to fill out all the questions, and keep clicking next. If you perservere, you should get to a place where you enter your phone number and they will give you a call back.

Let us know how it goes.

p.s. we saw your cruise around the world Google Earth project – WOW. Now I wanna go! 🙂

Yes, I cleared my cache when a support person was helping me load a page that wouldn’t load.  I guess I must have had the clear data checked.  I am a Google1 member, so I will have to take that route, as I tried all of the other options I’ve seen on the support pages.  I recently changed my password manager to Password1, so i haven’t lost them.   I like having both options.  I have tried the options you suggested in #1 and 2.Cool

Thanks for the response and I’m glad that the Google Earth KLM that I loaded into the program worked.  Since the original came up on a private group on Facebook I wasn’t sure that I could just send the link and that would would be able to view it.

Learned backups with my first computer, an Apple 2E.  When my disc wouldn’t read I read the entire manuals that caome with the computer.  Lead to a career in accounting on computer systems.

Just checking with Google1 on the Passwords.  If I delete when clearing data, it’s gone.  Fortunately I have 1Password and will go to my sites and resync.

Whew is right.  I won’t do that again.  I have uploaded my csv file from 1Passwords successfully.
