I tried this in Blogger and was able to delete just the picture that I wanted. I did this in both Mozilla Firefox and IE. When I selected the picture in Firefox, I was able to right click the picture and then select delete. In IE, I selected the picture with a left click and then used the delete key on the keyboard. In both cases, just the picture disappeared.

hmmm … something's wrong.
When I edit a blog post and want to remove a picture – I click on the picture … it turns kind of gray … and press the Del key on the keyboard. The picture disappears, all the rest of the blog post is intact.
Be sure you only have the one picture selected. Scroll up and down and notice what is 'grayed out.'
Does that help?

None of the suggestions worked. I finally resolved the issue by “gerry-rigging” it. I cut and pasted the last half of the blog into Word, which somehow totally got rid of all the offending pictures. Heaven only knows where they went. Then I pasted the Word material back into Blogger and uploaded the one picture I wanted again to the blog. Kind of the long way around, but there it is. Go figure!
