When paying for a personal domain on Blogspot ($15.00) the website is not secure like it is using blogspot.com.  Is this a concern?

That’s a good question Karen!

httpS security is such a hot button right now, and that is one reason I like using Blogger. the security certificate is all built in with the .blogspot.com domains. If you use a custom domain you lose that. For that reason, I have custom domains but I use redirect. For example:

type in LearnGooglPhotos.com and you will end up at https://learngooglephotos.blogspot.com/

I figure, as long as I make it easy for people to get there, I don’t mind the URL being longer. and the httpS is worth it.

I may do some more research though since I really don’t understand why the custom URL takes away the S.
