I am a long time user of Blogger. We travel a lot and I blog while we are on the road. I recently went to start a new blog for this summer and I couldn’t get into the software. I did a lot of digging around and found that the latest update of Firefox no longer supports Java which is essential to running Blogger. What can I do? I don’t not want to change my browser. Can you recommend another blogging software? I have friends using Wordpress and the results look good. Have you had any experience with using it? Have you any idea if it is intuitive to use? I have a good deal of experience with computers and should be able to figure it out. Would you recommend a book that might be helpful?
I’ve also used Picasa with great success. Will it work with another blogging software or should I concentrate on learning Google Photos? Do I have to use the cloud?
Thanks for an advice you can give.
Personally, I think Blogger is MUCh easier than Wordpress. This GeeksOnTour.com website is done using Wordpress – it is very powerful but not nearly as easy as Blogger. How much content do you already have on Blogger? Can you give me the link so I can take a look?
I don’t use Firefox, but that doesn’t sound right that Blogger won’t work. Maybe some Firefox plugins interfere with Blogger, but I see nothing on the Blogger forums that state it won’t work at all with blogger. ???

One of my blogs is http://www.roamingwithbaileyan…..ot.com I have two others (roamingwithbaileyandlady, roamingwithbaileyandemily). I have no problem bringing up the blogs when I use their links. When I tried to open Blogger to start a new blog for this summer, it would not open except for the most recent blog which is the link I provided. It would not go to my blog list, I could not move to any other page.
I pulled up an article on Google Blogger. It gave the necessary requirements which included Java. I went to download Java to make sure I had the latest version and it says that Java will not work with the latest version of Firefox.
Blogger is easier than Wordpress, without a doubt. I don’t think I will have too much of a problem. I used to know a smattering of SQL but I don’t think Wordpress even requires using that now. I know how to program (haven’t needed to in quite a while). What do you use to handle your photos in Wordpress? The Photos in Win10 is awful. Will Picasa work with Wordpress? Is there any other blogging software out there?
Aside from this, I really want to thank you Geeks for getting me started blogging. It has been so much fun and provides so much more than a journal and a chip full of pictures ever can. It can reach so many more friends than I will ever get around to visiting. Our older friends get to travel vicariously with us.
Thanks for your attention
I don’t use Firefox … why not use Chrome? Firefox is more for web developers.
But, I see no reason why Firefox can’t open Blogger – I don’t find anything else on the Google Blogger forum that mentions that. Could it be that you just need to click the dropdown arrow next to the list of blogs? This little arrow is new since most of my Blogger videos were recorded. Click the arrow to see other blogs beside the current one. Click the image below to enlarge a screenshot.
I’m sure you could figure out Wordpress – and it is certainly good. I just think Blogger is by far the easier, AND it works directly with your Google Photos. Let me know if you find your other blogs OK?
I love Roaming with Bailey and Betty! I recognize lots of the photos in the collage! Ain’t RVing grand?!
