Somewhere along the line, you probably wrote directions on how to backup a blogger blog but I can’t find it.  How do I backup my blog?  I’ve never given it any thought until yesterday when I suddenly couldn’t bring up my blog due to a statcounter issue.  It scared me and I realized I have no backup at all for the 16 years of work.

Good idea Sue!

To do a simple backup of a Blogger blog – go to Settings, Manage blog, Backup content. That will download a file, readable by Blogger.com, that would reinstate your blog if something happened on the blogger side.

I like having a .pdf file of all my posts, including images. I do that with the Blog2Print.com system, and I ask for a book for each year. I usually get a hard-bound printed book, but I definitely get a .pdf for each year.

Here’s an article I wrote quite a while ago – https://geeksontour.com/2014/0…..your-blog/

Any questions, let me know.

Hmmm…..I don’t see an “export” option anywhere.  I tried the backup option but it only gives me a weird html file.

“Backup Content” is the right option. It creates an .xml file – readable only by Blogger. So, if something happened to your blog, you can always go to Blogger.com and “Import” that xml file to reinstate your blog.
