I would like to add links to our favorite Blogs, forums, resources, etc… Do I need to get permission from the resource to put their link on my blog and if I want to add a brief description, should I ask the owner of the blog/forum for the description or just write a summary sentence myself? I am just planning to set the links up as a list on a page. Is that what you would suggest?
It’s always nice to ask the blog owner, but not really necessary. Most blog owners are seeking ways to promote their blogs and will be most appreciative. “Asking” them is also letting them know that you’re doing it – so that’s nice.
I would accomplish it by adding a Link List gadget to your sidebar. From your blogger dashboard, find the Layout option under the dropdown arrow. Then you should see “Add a Gadget” on the sidebar area. Click that and find the Link List gadget – that’s where you enter your list of blogs.
Here’s our video. It’s rather old, the Layout option has moved to the dropdown arrow, and Page Elements are now called Gadgets – everything else is pretty much the same. https://geeksontour.com/2008/06…..your-blog/
I am well on my way to having our blog set up. I have created the Resources List that I asked you about. I have added a link to your Geeks on Tour site–I love your resources and definitely want others to find you guys. Thanks for your extra help at Phoenix Rally. I am planning to add a “Financial Info” tab (my background is financial counseling–so I have a passion for helping people manage their finances) I also have information ready to add a “Health and Travel” tab (having Fibromyalgia I have learned, managing health on the road has challenges). Anyway, you can see my starting attempt at: http://www.pricelessrvadventures.com. Let me know what you think.
