At the end of each month I like to make a large album including every photo taken during the month.

I have been having trouble doing this.  I select all of the photos and then click the plus sign.  It then says “Create new”  I click album and it starts uploading files but stops at two or four or a low number of files.  I watch this for a while and then click cancel, and do not have the album.

What am I doing wrong?  It used to work for me.  I have albums from other months.  I have tried this on the ipad, the phone and the computer, all with the same results.

Will appreciate your help.

Thank you.

The first thought that comes to my mind is the 500 limit. If you are selecting more than 500 photos at one time it will fail.

another question for you – you say that they start Uploading and then stop. Where are they coming from? They should already be Uploaded before you make albums.

The albums run under the 500 limit, usually 100+ to 250+ I do two a month.

Not sure exactly where they are coming from.  I select the photos from the photos, hit the plus sign, select album and then wait.  Most times it make an album and then has me name it, but on some occasions it only take a few pictures and after a long pause I hit “cancel”.

Perhaps the internet strength is a factor.  Will GP put photos into albums without a strong internet connection?

How do you recommend labeling these albums?  I labeled the most recent. 2017-07-01-15.  Would you recommend another way?

Internet connection can be critical for working with albums. Especially if the photos are just on your device and need to be uploaded before they can be added to an album.

If these albums are strictly for a period of time, then just using a date is good. I do one/month and name them 2017-07 July. I add the word July just to make it really clear. If you’re doing 2/month maybe 2017-07a and 2017-07b rather than the full date range, just because all those numbers is a bit unweildy.
