Apologize if this has been discussed. If so a link will suffice.
What do you recommend as a Text/SMS program? I’ve been using Verizon’s Message+ but it is lacking on many counts. Most recent is daughter texted pictures of Grands and we cannot save them or look at them in anything but small size. Would really like to see them full screen.
I can’t see that there is a Google version but hope there is? You’ve got me using Google for everything else. Thanks! Steve
PS: Esp interested in app for laptop
Android Text messaging apps are a mess. Google has dropped the ball on this one. For a while, I used (and recommended) Google Hangouts – it had the ability to do SMS text messaging and replace your verizon Message+, but that ability has been removed. Now google refers us to the Android Messages app.
I have chosen to use Facebook Messenger instead. It can do your SMS text messages as well as Facebook messages. I really like it actually, you can do simple texts, mms texts, phone call, video call, send money, send location, and put on funny faces! There isn’t a Messenger app for the laptop, but if you use Facebook, it is the same as sending messages via Facebook.

But unless I’m missing something Messenger will only communicate with FB users? One daughter is a non-FBer (shocking eh?). I tried to send her something as a test and she doesn’t come up. That’d be great if it does because we use Messenger a lot anyway.
Since I made the orig post I’ve been playing with MySMS and like it so far. Works well across all platforms.
